Where will women in technology be in 10 years?

I’ll be speaking at SXSWi for Ignite Austin, and would love to incorporate some of your thoughts into the talk! The topic of my talk will be “Women. Technology. 2011.”

I’m looking for thoughts on where you think women will be in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, or where you want them to be, 10 years from now. I also would like to push the discussion to the global scene, not just focused on the US.

Please leave a comment, or email me at kate@girlsintech.net. I’d love submissions today, but can take them up until Wednesday.

Thanks!

    Hi

I wish I saw you blog earlier. My greatest wish for women in Technology in 10 years would be that the single woman on the team wouldn’t be seen as:
    1) the Business Analyst
    2) less technically competent
    3) not to be invited for the after work drinks

We are often excluded from the “boys’ club” – in South Africa at least and a lot of decisions and networking happen in these social environments.

It would also be refreshing if people assume i can do my job rather than me having to prove it on each new assignment,

My blog is very tongue in cheek, but I will get more serious as i start blogging more regularly.

I hope it went well. :)
