Got any “geekternships” that actually involve technology like eg. programming, operating systems, etc? Or that involve science, math, or engineering? Not many of the young geeks I know are into home decor, celebrity news, etc.

It seriously looks like the words “geek” and “tech” are being used here in a way that’s totally different to the way I’ve always used them and my friends have always used them.
I wonder if this is related to “geek” now being seen as cool/hip/the thing to be – people widen the usage of the word because they want to be included in it? If so, that’s pretty amusing considering how much people tried to prove they were NOT geeks when I was growing up!
Do you folks have definitions of “geek” and “tech” as they’re used here? It could potentially clear up a lot of misunderstandings…
